The Archbishop Shaw Eagles are officially 1-0! The Eagles opened their 2026 regular season Friday night at Joe Zimmerman Stadium with a hard-fought 20-14 win over the Hahnville Tigers. It was an exciting night of football and a great way for Shaw to start the season in front of their home crowd.

Shaw came out strong and built a 20-0 lead through the first three quarters. Hahnville battled back in the fourth quarter, but the Archbishop Shaw football team stayed together and held on for the win. It was a great first step for a team that has been working hard all summer, and there is plenty of football still ahead!

The Shaw football action actually started earlier in the week, with the freshman and JV Eagles traveling to Hahnville on Wednesday night. It was fun to watch these younger teams compete, work together, and continue building the foundation for the future of Shaw football.

I’m excited to continue photographing the Archbishop Shaw Eagles throughout the season and capturing these moments for their players and families. From the freshman team all the way through varsity, there is so much talent, energy, and hard work happening on this football program.

Parents, you can find the photos from the Family Night and St. Amant scrimmage below!

Go Eagles!
