I love to learn and further my education in technical skills and newborn safety. I have traveled around the country attending classes and workshops to make sure that I implement safe, unique, and creative techniques that help me make each session unique to your family. I have a studio in Westwego that is designed to meet the needs of a newborn and their family! The studio sits on a half-acre of land that backs up to a state park making the studio property full of bunnies, greenery, and beautiful sunlight. My sweet husband helped me design and create the perfect atmosphere for my KVR families.
My newborn sessions are done with an assistant to ensure your baby’s safety. My assistant Heather, is the peanut butter to my jelly! Her knowledge of safety and styling makes her a great asset to KVR. Be sure to look for extra hands in the behind the scene images keeping baby extra safe! .
I believe that a newborn session should have a simple foundation with the focus being on just the baby. From there, I love to work with the parents to build up to a creative vision that is unique for every child. We create an environment that helps the baby transition from set up to set up so that our new tiny boss is not only comfortable but also safe!
The studio is located in Westwego and sits on an acre of property that backs up to Bayou Segnette State Park. With the amenities of a studio added to the green space of a state park, the private land adds a bit of magic to every session photographed there. We can be completely spoiled by privacy, beautiful light, and the option to move indoors. We have carefully customized the land to have extra scenic spots by adding large scenes like a camp’s front porch, a seasonal wildflower fiend, and many other features. The best part is that it is only 15 minutes from downtown New Orleans!
I love photographing families during golden hour. Golden hour is about 1 hour before sunset that creates the warm glow, beautiful light, and the ability to move around the location and still have great images. Every outdoor session that includes family pictures should be schedule around this time based on your chosen location.
One my family’s favorite things to do is to look at old family photos and to tell the kids the stories associated with them. I’m glad they love it because I love it too! My father passed away when I was 13 and I adore every single picture we have of him. My favorites are not when we are smiling looking at the camera but when we are enjoying being together with natural laughs. This has a clear influence in my photography and I love that! It fuels my passion for capturing family memories that we can have for a lifetime!
