I sure am glad you are ready to book your session! Once you have emailed us for pricing and decided on your package, we pick a day that works best for you and your family! Newborn sessions pick a tentative weekday date just to hold your spot and family sessions can choose between a weekday or a limited weekend spot. Then $50 retainer fee will be sent and your session will be secured after that.
What to do when you are ready to book:
We love to help you plan outfit colors and style based on your family and your location. Remember that comfort is key for kids! We will reach out to you a few days before your session to confirm all of the details like time, understanding the location, and weather. You can always email or text us any questions prior to your session! Don’t worry, we are going to send you prep guides to guide you to your session.
How to prepare for your shoot:
Woot woot, the big day is finally here! The most important thing to do is to relax and enjoy the day. Naps and feedings can easily affect the session so please plan accordingly. If Mom and Dad come to the photoshoot happy with the intention to have fun, the kids will feed off of that energy. We have tricks and games to help keep the little ones engaged so there is no need to worry about practicing a good smile…they are all good smiles!
What to expect on your session day:
Images take about 3 weeks to get the full gallery back. We are always working for a shorter return time! If you need the images by a certain date, please let us know. We will email you an online gallery where you can download the images and print release. The print release also has good printing suggestions, local and online. If you would like to order through the gallery you can or you can ask us about ordering books and canvases!

+ WHAT IS LIFESTYLE PHOTOGRAPHY?
The goal of lifestyle photography is to capture natural reactions, emotions, and interactions while the photographer guides you through your session. It consists of more movement than the typical standing still and smiling which makes this style of photography perfect for families! It allows me to capture genuine laughs and smiles based on a series of prompts, games, and good old fun.

We want you to help you schedule a time with the best light, to give you opinions on outfits, and to reassure you that the session is going to be worth all the fuss!
+ WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR?
Your outfit choice should reflect your family’s style! We find that flowy dresses for Mom are a great option because it allows you to move freely with your kids, get down and play with them, and still look like a goddess at the same time! For kids (heck, and Dads) we recommend comfort be the priority. If your child is more concerned with fixing his shirt than playing and laughing, we aren’t going to be able to get the variety that is possible. I find that earthy neutrals (blues, earthy greens, creams, maroons, mustards, etc) photograph well in almost every setting and sets you apart from the scenery.
+ WHAT DO I RECEIVE IN MY PACKAGE?
You pick your package based on the amount of time, people, and digital images that you want. Once the session is over, I find the best images based on your package and fully edit them. Then you will receive an online gallery with all of your digital images and print release. From there, you download your images and can upload them to one of the suggested printing places. You can share your gallery with your family or you can print for them! If your session has a lot of great images, I won’t just discard them, you can have the chance to purchase them at a small additional fee because I want you to have all of your memories!
+ WHEN SHOULD WE SCHEDULE AND TAKE OUR PHOTOS?
NEWBORN PITCURES should be scheduled around 6 months pregnant, to ensure your spot! We pick a day a week after your due date (just for reference) but we schedule it within two weeks once the baby has arrived. I have weekday flexibility to accommodate doctor appoints before Dad goes back to work. MATERNITY PICTURES are recommended around 30-34 weeks gestation. At this time, you have a great size belly without feeling too uncomfortable and you’re still able to move around easily. FAMILY PICTURES should be scheduled at least two months ahead, if you need a limited weekend date, and can be taken year-round
+ WHAT TIME OF DAY SHOULD WE SCHEDULE THE SESSION?
Sunset is the best time of day for pictures! Any family or sibling shoot will be best about an hour before sunset depending on location, weather, and time of year. This is crucial for that beautiful lighting, less heat, and more variety of background. The studio is also available for sitter sessions to have a part inside and part outside experience.
+ DO YOU RECOMMEND THAT I PRINT THROUGH YOU?
You don’t have to. That is the beauty of paying for the digital images and print release! Your print release will have trust worthy printing suggestions both local and online to help you get the highest quality prints. If you would like to order prints, canvases, books, or any other product through me, I would be glad to help! Heather and I are here to make sure your session goes smoothly all the way through to getting to hold your images in your hand!
+ WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE LOCATIONS FOR SESSIONS?
My favorite locations fluctuate depending on the family! However, my favorite sunlight is often at City Park, Audubon Park, my Studio, Crescent Park, Hope Haven, and in the city. I would love to talk to you about the pros and cons of each location! Then we can decide what is best for you based on your preference, kids’ ages, and style!
