Archbishop Shaw vs. E.D. White Football Photos | Faces, Friday Night Light & the Story Beyond the Game
Friday night at Joe Zimmerman Stadium brought the Archbishop Shaw Eagles and E.D. White Cardinals together for another night of high school football in Marrero. The Eagles finished the night with a 45–0 win over E.D. White, but as I photographed the game, I found myself looking beyond the scoreboard and the action on the field.
This week, I challenged myself to photograph something a little differently. I looked for the faces.
A Little Bit of Senior Photography on the Sidelines
These lifestyle portraits reminded me of something that I love about senior photography. Senior portraits are meant to show off your personality. If you are an athlete, if you love comic books, if you prefer to be out on a boat, if you prefer to be reading with a coffee, if you love the beach, the goal isn’t to make every senior session look the same but to create photographs that feel like you.
This is what I was looking for on the sideline Friday night. Real expressions, real personalities, real people.
Football season is made up of players, coaches, families, teachers, and fans that come together to create an amazing community. The Archbishop Shaw Eagles Football Team is truly a family on the field, on the sidelines, and in the stands.
Archbishop Shaw vs. E.D. White – September 25, 2006
Archbishop Shaw put together a strong performance Friday night, defeating E.D. White 45–0 at Joe Zimmerman Stadium. The Eagles controlled the game from the start, showcasing strong play on both sides of the ball and giving the Shaw faithful plenty to celebrate under the Friday night lights.
