Did you know that in New Orleans we celebrate 7th grade graduations? In many Catholic schools, 7th grade marks the end of one chapter before students officially begin high school in 8th grade. It is such a special milestone, and Addie’s session was the sweetest way to celebrate it. I have been photographing Addie since she was a baby, so getting to document another huge milestone in her life felt incredibly special. I love creating graduation photos in New Orleans families can look back on for years to come! These sessions hold so many memories all in one place.

One of my favorite parts of the session was recreating a photo from Addie’s kindergarten graduation while she held the same book years later. Moments like that always stop me in my tracks because time truly flies. Watching families grow over the years is one of the greatest gifts of this job.

I also loved the idea her mom had to hang up Addie’s past school uniforms alongside her future uniform. It was such a meaningful way to visually capture this transition season. Addie is officially leaving Immaculate Conception School and heading to Mount Carmel Academy, and you could feel the excitement surrounding this next chapter.

Addie also included some of her classmates in the session, which made the entire gallery feel even more joyful and personal. There were nonstop giggles, big laughs, and so much excitement about what comes next. Honestly, it felt exactly like girlhood should feel!

As a New Orleans photographer, I love documenting all the moments families want to remember, not just the big traditional milestones, but the in-between seasons too. If you’re looking for beautiful graduation photos in New Orleans you can treasure for years to come, I’d love to help you celebrate this exciting chapter! Book your session today.
