When Mom said she wanted a fun way to capture preteens, celebrate 5 years cancer-free, and document a first birthday in one session…I was all in! I first photographed the twins as newborns, and now here we are celebrating their 11th birthday. Watching families grow like this is one of the biggest gifts of being a NOLA photographer. They’ve turned into the sweetest, kindest, and funniest preteens and getting to document this stage felt really special.
Celebrating 5 Years Cancer-Free
Jake is celebrating 5 years cancer-free, and as a fellow remission buddy, this part of the session meant so much to me. His smile said everything. Moments like these go beyond just “photos”. They hold so much meaning for a family, and it’s an honor to be trusted to capture them.
Big Siblings & Baby Milestones
Molly may be the youngest of the bunch, but she was more than ready for her photoshoot. She absolutely lit up anytime one of her big siblings talked to her, which made for the sweetest, most natural moments. We also recreated a sibling photo from her newborn session (because I am always a sucker for seeing just how fast time flies), and it might be one of my favorite parts of the whole gallery.
Colorful, Playful, and a Little Bit Classic
We leaned into a colorful setup for most of the session to match their personalities and energy. It was so much fun! To balance it out, we finished with a family image on a white backdrop to keep that more traditional, timeless feel. The silhouette photos ended up being some of my absolute favorites, and Mom already said she’s planning to hang them on her gallery wall. I think the color series is going to look so good in a playroom!
